Dave Bare | General Manager

Dave moved to Nanaimo in 1997 from Smithers in the northern BC interior and got his start in the car business as a sales person in Kitimat in 1981. A lot of things have changed in this business over the years but some things will always stay the same. The most important thing remains quality service. "Take care of customers the way you would like to be cared for" was learned early and remains a focus for all of our staff here at Harris Kia. Dave is married to Susan and has two children, April and Bryan.

Randy Heller - Sales Manager

Randy has been in the Auto Industry since 2004 and brings an extensive background of customer service having prior worked in the restaurant industry for about 10 years. I am proud to be a member of the Harris Auto Group and to work for a company that truly puts the customer first. We were just recently voted the #1 place on Vancouver Island to buy an automobile and we continue to better our experience for our customers every day. Outside of the office you can find Randy out on his boat trying catch a fish somewhere and spending time with his family and friends. I look forward to making sure your next vehicle purchase is a smooth and enjoyable one!

Roy Berentsen - Sales Manager

Roy Grew up in Port Alberni and has spent the last 15 years raising his family and working in Prince George. Roy has worked in both the private and public sectors and is excited to be part of the award winning team at Harris Kia. Roy’s philosophy is simple “Take care of you community and your community will take care of you”. Roy believes that a “Quality Vehicle with Quality Service” and a “Customer first” approach is the difference between a good Dealer experience and a great one.

Roy has been married to Jody since 1996 and together they have three children, Danika, Jarod and Kiara

Jeremy Allen - Financial Services Manager

Jeremy was born and raised here on Vancouver Island.  He grew up taking advantage of our beautiful natural resources and you will still find him surfing, snowboarding and playing golf in his free time.  While in University, Jeremy also worked full time as a server and bartender in restaurants and pubs, highlighting his customer service skills and promoting his "customer first" attitude.  He completed his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in 2006, and before joining the Harris Auto Group in 2008, spent the next 2 years living and traveling overseas in Europe.  Today, Jeremy is a proud member of the team at Harris Kia and is excited to demonstrate our service commitment to you.

Kevan Threadgill - Financial Services Manager

Kevan is recent B. Commerce graduate and one of our Financial Services Managers. Kevan hails from Edmonton, Alberta where he lived for 23 years.  Though young to the industry, Kevan is ambitious to get your deal through the door so you too can experience the thrill of driving a Mitsubishi or Kia vehicle. On his off time you'll find Kevan on the local golf courses trying to find his ball in the bush.

Grant Brown | Sales Consultant

Grant came to Harris Kia as one of the original sales people when our dealership opened in August of 2000. Originally from Alberta, Grant moved to Vancouver Island in 1980 to work for Air Canada. After 11 years, Grant opened a small store in Parksville and ran that until 2000 when he began his career in the car business. "I saw Kia as an opportunity for growth and have never looked back" says Grant. Pride in the job he does and treating folks with respect, the way he wants to be treated, is how he does business every day.

Glenn Molson - Sales Consultant

Jordan Dyck - Sales Consultant

Jordan joined the team at Harris Kia in 2010. He recently moved from the mainland to a cozy cabin on Gabriola Island with Ginnie and Erynn, his wife and daughter.  He is loving the island way of life, both personally and for his family.  He is dedicated to providing a memorable experience and is passionate about the company he works for. Chris Dixon - Sales Consultant

Chris Dixon joined the Harris Kia Sales team in Spring 2010, "I like coming to work as our team is the opposite of what everyone perceives car sales to be". He has enjoyed sales and working with the public for the past 10 years, "I just like having fun with people and constantly meeting different people everyday". Chris moved to Nanaimo in 2002 but has always been an Islander. Currently Chris enjoys spending time with his family as he has 4 little girls named Izabella, Natalia, Adrianna, Sierra and his wife who does all the work, Yvonne. Rob has been visting Nanaimo for the past 20 years for holidays and decided to move to the "Greatest Place on Earth" this summer with his family. Rob has lived in Europe and across Canada working in Sales for the past 25 years. Teri comes to us from a GM background. She has been selling parts for over 12 years and is happy to come on board and take our parts department in hand. Michael Hitchcock | Service Technician

Michael has lived in Nanaimo with his wife and children since 1991. He started with Harris Kia in April 2006 and is a graduate of the Automotive Service Technician's Program at Malaspina University College. Michael brings with him many years of experience working on European imports and looks forward to servicing your automotive needs here at Harris Kia. Come on in and meet him today!

Office Staff

Chris Gauthier - Controller

Chris has been with the Tom Harris Group since 2006 and he joins us from the cellular division.  He was born and raised in Winnipeg and left the cold winters for the island life in 2004.  Chris enjoys many of the outdoor experiences the island has to offer such as camping, hiking, snowboarding, mountain biking and boating.  Chris is a proud new dad as he and his wife Carly welcomed Cohen into their family in March 2010. 

Katie Moore - Receptionist

Katie moved to Nanaimo in February of 2008 from Calgary. She was looking for a change of scenery and a fresh start and that's what she got! She loves living in Nanaimo and is excited to part of the Harris Kia team. With her high energy and always smiling personality, she is sure to give you a warm welcome.

Emily Kennedy - Customer Service

Emily is a hometown girl, having grown up in Nanaimo she is thrilled to work within her community. After graduating at McMaster University in June 2008, she is happy to be home and is excited to work for the Harris family at both Harris Kia and Harris Mitsubishi. She loves getting to know the customers and could not think of a better job to do so than to help them keep track of the maintenance due on their vehicles. Darah Provencal - Customer Service

Darah joined the Harris Auto Family team in June 2010. After working with the Australian National Curling team Darah has returned home eager to step aboard in the expanding business development center for Harris Kia. Darah has spend 18 years curling herself and been a representative of B.C at Nationals twice. She feels she can bring a lot of knowledge, skills and dedication from her sports background to helping customers with service needs and is looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Jennifer Brock - Customer Service

Jennifer joined the Harris Auto Group in August of 2010 after an adventurous drive across the country to move to Nanaimo. She originally grew up in Oshawa, Ontario then moved to Ottawa to attend university there in 2003. After graduating in 2007 with an Honors degree in Social Science, she began working at market research and consulting group as an Office Manager. She prides herself on exceeding customer expectations and thrives in a challenging work environment. Outside of work, you can find Jennifer enjoying the natural setting of Nanaimo, from catching some sun at the beach to hiking and biking the numerous trails around the city. Jennifer has an avid interest in fitness, cooking, special effects make-up and prop work. She loves to travel and her next big adventure will be to explore Europe.

Jackie has been a part of the Harris Auto Group since November of 2006. She enjoys working in this fast paced environment and is enthusiastic to be part of an expanding company.
